On 24th May 2018, Lambert Chapman LLP entered a team into the Savills Quiz Night, in aid of Farleigh Hospice, which was held at the Essex County Cricket Club in Chelmsford.

The quiz was well attended with a total of 21 teams taking part and the Lambert Chapman team, called Don Pablo’s Animals, consisted of Paul Short, Mike Carabine, Richard Hamilton, Lee Sutton, Craig Weavers and Wendy Eveling.

The team performed well throughout the quiz, scoring nine out of ten of the Food & Drink, Essex and Cartoon rounds. The ‘Guess the Price’ round was found to be hard with the team scoring only four out of ten. Despite this, they were well positioned going into the supper break.

The team also did particularly well on the two picture rounds in which teams had to identify companies from their logos and name musical artists/album titles from the album covers scoring nineteen points out of twenty in each round.
The team finished with 108 points from a possible 130 which resulted in a tie at the top of the table with Birkett Long.
The winning team was decided upon with a game of Heads & Tails.

The team decided to employ the tactics suggested by Mike as he won the individual Heads & Tails game earlier in the evening, taking home three bottles of wine/gin.

His advice proved useful and the team took the trophy by virtue of winning the tie break.

A raffle and an auction helped boost the funds raised for the nominated charity and it was announced that the event raised £3,200. It was also announced that Savills would match the total raised.

Our thanks go to Paul Bird and the team at Savills and we look forward to attending next year.
