Our Forensic Accountancy Service has continued to flourish with the last twelve months generating our highest number of appointments, since we first started delivery of this service.
We have always wanted to offer Solicitors in Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk (and also London) a viable, reliable and robust alternative to the engagement of one of the regional players in this area of accountancy.
Our focus is on matrimonial cases, although we will take instruction in commercial cases.
Inevitably a lot of appointments are as a single joint expert but I think that we are at our best, working closely with a solicitor representing one party in a divorce, either within or outside of the Court process.
In this latter situation we are able to play a more constructive role in offering a perspective on the business valuation. If we are instructed as a single joint expert we are bound to follow the joint instructions, without deviation.
A number of solicitors use us in this role to assist them in the more complex cases where both sides need independent accountancy backup.
Whilst our appointments have spanned many sectors, including a number relating to Estate Agents, the sector where we have most knowledge and expertise is that of agriculture. During this last year we were even approached by solicitors relating to a case in the Scottish Borders. We do prefer cases in the Essex Heartland though.
