On 9 May 2019, Lambert Chapman LLP entered a team, under the usual guise of Don Pablo’s Animals, into a quiz being run by our Charity of the Year – the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity.
The quiz was held at Bishop’s Stortford Football Club and ten teams took part.
There were seven decade rounds, covering the 1950’s to the 2010’s, and each round included questions about sport, music, history and television, amongst others.
The team performed well in most of these rounds, scoring full marks on the 1980’s which was doubled up with the team’s joker.
The marathon round featured pictures of celebrities when they were younger and this proved to be more of a struggle with the team scoring only 13 out of 25.
However, Don Pablo’s Animals were in a strong position with just one round to go, Double or Nothing. This turned out to be very tactical as getting full marks would result in the score being doubled but getting just one answer wrong would mean that no points would be scored in the round.
The team decided to stick with just six answers from the ten available but that was enough to secure first place with a score of 84 points, winning by just 2 points from The Batcavers (Janet Boyd).
Our thanks go to the team at Helen Rollason Cancer Charity, Bishop’s Stortford Football Club and Mark, the quizmaster, for an excellent evening which raised £800.
