Andrew Tinney

Tax Manager BSc (Hons) FCCA CTA

PROFESSIONAL:

I started working at Lambert Chapman in May 2023.

I qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1996 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1999.

I previously worked for a number of small accountancy practices in both London and the Colchester area, before running my own accountancy practice from December 2001 to November 2014. In December 2014, I joined a large accountancy practice to specialise in tax.

I work in the Tax Team at Lambert Chapman, and my main responsibilities include assisting Partners with complex tax matters, such as creating tax-efficient groups, applying for necessary statutory clearances in respect of demergers & purchase of own shares, and inheritance tax planning.

I assist the Partners and team members on a variety of tax queries that arise on an ad hoc basis.

I have a broad experience in tax, and since joining the firm, I have increased my depth of knowledge on Stamp Duty Land Tax and specific tax matters relating to our farming and agricultural accountancy clients.

PERSONAL:

I moved to Essex with my parents a long time ago, and I attended CRGS before going to Royal Holloway College, University of London, to study Chemistry.

I attend a local gym in an effort to keep fit, and I enjoy going to Murrayfield to watch Scotland play their home internationals.
