Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Assistant to join our team in Braintree, Essex. This role is within the Tax department of the Practice that provides services to our clients.
- Reporting To: Tax Manager
- Liaison With: Partners and employees of Lambert Chapman LLP and when required new and existing clients.
Key Objectives:
To prepare basic tax related work for review, and to provide effective support for both semi-senior and senior staff. This is a valuable service to all of our personal clients as this involves dealing with the tax compliance and calculation tax payments due by individuals.
Responsibilities for Tax Assistant:
- To collate clients personal tax data and input this onto the personal tax software program.
- To prepare the working papers relating to the personal tax returns and present these for review by senior/manager.
- To draft self-assessment tax returns and computations for review by the senior members of the team.
- To prepare correspondence via letter or email in respect of tax return matters for review by senior members of the team.
- To collate data in respect of the preparation of Forms P11d benefits in kind.
- To process data and prepare working papers in respect of the Forms P11d benefits in kind.
- To deal with the team’s administrative tasks.
- To integrate successfully with the team and provide effective support for other team members.
- To be willing to undertake additional tasks.
- To manage workload in line with service standards.
- To comply with the training requirements of the Practice.
- To liaise with manager on workload.
- To carry out any other duty which may be required in line with business requirements.
- To adhere to the Firm’s Health & Safety Policy at all times.
