Welcome to the Lambert Chapman Fantasy Football Homepage.
Another close season has almost ended and we are now looking forward to the start of the Fantasy Football Competition for 2007/08.
Last year's competition proved to be very successful and was enjoyed by a number of clients, contacts and staff. For this reason, we are keeping the same league format, with monthly promotions and relegations, a prize for the Manager of the Month from August 2007 to May 2008 and a trophy for the winning team at the season end.
If you are a newcomer, don't panic - the rules are quite simple. You may pick a team of eleven players with either a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 formation from the List of Players within this article and, providing you have a maximum of two players from any one team and have not spent more than £50m in total, your team will be entered into the competition.
Also, do not worry that you may miss a big-name transfer or whether a player that you select will get injured - we are allowing you the chance to enter a team now but make unlimited transfers until 10th August, the day before the season starts. From that point on, transfers can only be made at specific times throughout the season (keep an eye on the weekly emails for further notice of these) and a list of known dates till Christmas is set out below.
As last year, we shall be providing you with a weekly poll so that you can give your opinion on the current burning issues. See below for our first poll, but if you have any suggestions for a poll, feel free to send an e-mail to fantasy.football@lambert-chapman.co.uk.
In our last poll, 11 of you voted - 4 of you (36.4%) think that Phil Scolari will become the next manager of Manchester City.
Ronaldo has won the major Player of the Year awards this season and, looking at the points awarded in our competition, we seem to agree. However, who has been the next best player this season?
Last season, Richard Hamilton (aka Tractor Boy Tricky) came first and second overall - he is pictured (left) receiving his trophy. His team was checked and he assures everyone that all was in order. If you fancy your chances in taking the trophy from Tricky, please let us know and we will assist you in ensuring that your team is entered into the competition. We have asked Tricky his opinion on how the season will go in case this provides some food for thought. See Trick's Picks, below.
