Mike Lambert's daughter to run London Marathon for Stroke Association
The countdown has certainly commenced for those attempting to run the 2008 Flora London Marathon on April 13. One such competitor is Rebecca Oswell, daughter of our founder Michael Lambert (with whom she is pictured), who is running for the Stroke Association. It is with much sadness that we reported in last autumn’s Snapshots that Mike had suffered a stroke last June and subsequently spent a long period in hospital in Colchester. He is now back at home in Mersea and undergoing weekly physiotherapy on his left side which still has little movement.
Rebecca has been training hard and ran the Brentwood half marathon on March 9 in 2 hours 20 minutes. She has subsequently completed training runs of 15, 18 and 20 miles before entering a tapering down phase in which regular 4 to 5 miles runs are done four times a week until marathon day itself. She is aiming to get round in a time of approximately 5 hours and raise £4,500 for the Stroke Association which we are sure you will agree is a worthwhile cause. (You may remember Lisa being “arrested” for this cause in March 2007!)
Rebecca has a “Just Giving” site which will allow you to add to her fund online and can be accessed by using the link below.

We wish her good luck in this difficult challenge which we are certain she will achieve using the celebrated “Lambert tenacity” that served Mike so well when setting up our firm. We will also have a report on her run and time after the event.
