Chris Harman is a local man, having been born in Billericay and living in nearby Shotgate until moving to Halstead in 1975. After a spell working as a trainee dealer in a London Stockbrokers Chris commenced employment with the Inland Revenue in Colchester. After training he joined the tax department in the Colchester office of a national firm. In 1988 he joined Lambert Chapman and became our tax partner in 1996.
Chris is a member of both the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Association of Taxation Technicians. He represents the Chartered Institute of Taxation on the HM Revenue & Customs North Essex and Suffolk Working Together Committee. Chris is always available to provide proactive advice on a range of tax issues including the Construction Industry Scheme, status issues relating to being employed or self employed, Capital Gains Tax taper relief, Inheritance Tax, Estate Planning and Value Added Tax.
