Paul is a local man, having been born in Bishops Stortford, brought up in Dunmow and educated at King Edward VI School, Chelmsford. After Graduating from Manchester University with an honours degree in Classics, he trained as a Chartered Accountant in the office of a national firm. He qualified in 1982 and worked for an Essex based practice. Paul joined Lambert Chapman as a Partner in 1997.
Paul specialises in helping start up businesses, is widely acknowledged as an expert in the agricultural sector and has also acted as a trustee on a number of Family Settlements. Paul is on the UK Register of Expert Witnesses and is consulted or instructed on business and share valuations, company and partnership disputes, loss claims and matrimonial settlements. In 2006 Paul was awarded the Institute of Chartered Accountants diploma in Corporate Finance in recognition of his long standing corporate finance work for clients.
Paul is well known in the local business community as a member of the Chamber of Trade, having held the post of Treasurer. Paul served as the first Finance Director of Business Link (North West) Essex and Chairman of the Board. Other posts held include Governor at Braintree College. Paul also assists Braintree & Uttlesford Districts Enterprise Agency with the counselling of clients.
