Lambert Chapman enter Barclays Charity Quiz

Lambert Chapman LLP entered a team into a Charity Quiz that was run by Barclays Commercial on 19 November 2009.  The quiz was being held in order to raise funds for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity and the Mayor’s chosen charities, including Liveability. It was held at the Essex County Cricket Club.

There was a marathon round, given out at the start of the Quiz, which consisted of a number of pictures, each made up of two related faces (e.g. Ant & Dec) and guessing the real names of singers from a choice of three possibilities.

Other rounds in the Quiz included Rat Race, True or False, TV Pubs and TV Cop Themes.

It was a very tough quiz, largely due to the fact that jokers were played ‘blind’, meaning that teams did not know which rounds were coming up later on.

The team left their joker until the last available round, which was Song Lyrics. This is normally quite a good round for our team although, on this occasion, they only scored 2 points out of a possible 10, doubling up to 4 points.

 This cost our team badly and they ended up in 6^th position with Holmes & Hills winning.

In addition to the Quiz, there was a raffle and an auction of items such as football tickets, rounds of golf and a garnet/sapphire bracelet.

The Quiz raised, in total, around £6,200 for the Charities and our thanks go to Barclays for arranging the event. We look forward to attending next year to try and do better!
