Lambert Chapman LLP runners up in Holmes & Hills football tournament
The weather was atrocious on Friday night but that did not stop our side putting in a fantastic effort at the Holmes & Hills 5 A-Side Football tournament at Halstead Leisure Centre. We all returned to our cars soaked to the skin having seen us fall 3-1 in the final tie against The Benson Bar, a Sunday League team who had a very solid squad, after winning all of our group games including one over the eventual winners.
Hats off go to Tom Maddocks, Chris Maher, Craig Weavers, Mike Carabine, Mark Pearson and Josh Pachent who were excellent throughout combining in some lovely moves and scoring some superb goals. Mike also saved a penalty at the close in the final but the rebound was forced home to settle the game.
We also met up with contacts from Holmes & Hills, Barclays Bank, Unizone and Bidwells who were in the other group and retired to The Bull in Halstead for refreshments and prize giving afterwards.
